Amaretti

Amaretti are traditional Italian sweets, small and sweet, made mainly with ground bitter almonds, sugar and egg white.   They are often used as tea or coffee biscuits, but also as ingredients in many traditional Italian dessert recipes, cakes, pies, semifreddo and puddings.
